A Halloween outfit that'll charm even the evilest of the spirits

There's something spooooky in the air and we just can't get enough. With the official start of fall, our minds immediately jump to the upcoming holiday season.
The first of which is arguably the most fun for the crafters in us. Halloween is just more than a month away and if sewing up a whole new costume for your little one is a little too daunting, we've got some great ideas for getting your kids in the Halloween spirit easily, inexpensively, and of course, adorably.

Let's start with the girls. Both of these dresses are perfectly appropriate for school and are oh, so wonderfully Halloween, don't you think?

Chevron and Pumpkins. You can't go wrong.

This adorable pillowcase dress is as easy as 1-2-3.
Each of them is just a little bit of fabric, some ribbon/elastic, and a perfect applique. Applique is a super simple technique. All you need is some fusible web backing and your sewing machine's zig zag stitch.

Now the two things that make these dresses totally covetable are the actual applique (I mean, a smiling ghost with a bow...c'mon!) and the adorable fabric. Fabric that looks a little something like these, perhaps...

Our wonderful selection of Halloween-y fabrics

Aren't they all so great?! What makes them even better is they are all on sale! Yup. Every green, orange, purple and black fabric you purchase online is 10 percent off! Just use coupon code HAPHALLOWEEN at checkout.

Oh, and don't worry. We didn't forget about the boys. This Reversible Baby Vest Tutorial would be perfect for your little man. Or how absolutely great would it be to get him in his own little cape?! I know! This is a great step-by-step detailed tutorial on how to get it done. Try the applique technique for either of these projects, too!

If online tutorials aren't your thing, Becky will be teaching a pillowcase dress class on October 3rd from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. It's $30. Please call the store to reserve your space today as this one will fill up fast!

And, if the applique technique isn't for you, Becky will do it for you. Her business, Sewn by Becky, does handmade, professional, custom clothes for kids and adults. She charges a meager $12 to add an applique to any outfit...including your awesome new Halloween dress, cape, etc. Contact her via Facebook for more information.

So, snatch up some Halloween hued fabrics and dream up the cutest applique you can think of (our Pinterest page could help) to get your little ones in the Halloween spirit this year.
