Yes!! It’s me :)  I know I know…. I have been away from my blog for so long :/  But… I have a good reason.  Do you wanna know??  OK… After 5 awesome years enjoying every minute with my daughter Fabiana, my husband and I decided to give her a sibling.

Now that phase 1, making the playmat top, is complete, I am ready to think about quilting it. So, I made a quilting plan. Now that it's done, I’m not sure if I love it or if I will ever do it again, but I am happy with the finished product. 

Playmat Phase 1 - Sew Modern Baby

Yesterday, one of our long time customers, Ruth, came in with the book Sew Modern Baby. We carry the book, but I have never really looked at it. She told me she was making the play mat. My exact response was, "I would love to make that, but it looks like a lot. Tell me how it goes; if it's hard, I don’t want to hear about it." As we shopped for fabrics and she told me more about the project, I realized it really wasn’t that hard. As I cut her fabric, I cut fabric for me, too! Of course, I want to get it done in time for Stacy's baby, Rylan. And, the timing is perfect because when Rylan grows out of it, Floyd baby #3 will be ready to use it. 

Introducing the Fabiana Peplum

I am so excited to finally introduce my third pattern the Fabiana Peplum to the world. Although this pattern was completed a while ago, I have been trying to perfect it one eighth of an inch at a time. Because the nesting of this pattern was so complicated it  I wanted to find a way to get it to you precut. This took a lot of research, phone calls and meetings. Lucky me, lucky you, I found a way to do it. I think you will find having a precut pattern saves so much time and energy. The top and dress version is a fast sew, making this a one day project!!!
